ElJay's PerFECT-a-Pooch

In observance to the original "Dog Days of Summer", we wanted to turn the 40-day heat wave into something everyone can enjoy! During this time period ElJay's is holding their first annual fundraiser benefiting both the Butler County Humane Society and Rainbow Animal Refuge. Both facilities have donated their patience and care for all the animals who most needed it and they are in desperate need of medical funding.

Stop by BCHS or Rainbow Animal Refuge booths at the Clearview Mart Flea Market to make a donation. Donate $2 or more and get a button!!

If you recieve a button, wear it!! If one of our staff see you out in public wearing it, tell us our slogan "EVERY DOG DESERVES AN EDUCATION" and you will be entered in a drawing to be held August 11th.

       1st Prize: Training Program valued at a minimum of $300.00

      2nd Prize: Photo Watch     valued at $80

      3rd Prize: Gift Certificate for our store "The Fire Hydrant", "Where dogs prefer to do their business"   valued at $50.

**Essay Contest**

"Why I love my dog"

+9 yrs of age and younger (with parental help)+

+10-12 years old+

+13-16 years old+

Rules: Essay must be 200 words or less. Entries become property of ElJay's PerFECT-A-Pooch and will not be returned. Entries must be received no later that August 1st, 2009.

To Enter: On a separate sheet of paper have Mom or Dad fill out your name and age. Mom/Dad's name, address, phone number, breed and age of dog you're writing about along with a photo of you and your dog.

Also attach a signed statement from your parents giving you permission to enter and to send this information. Send a suggested donation of at least $5.00 to benefit the "Dog Days of Summer" fundraiser with your entry.

*NOTE TO PARENTS*

So we have a good idea of how many entries to expect, although entries are not due until August 1st, we are asking that you please call us ASAP just to let us know your child is planning on entering.

Community Yard Sale

At Butler County Humane Society

8:00 AM -3:00 PM 

set up as early as 6:30 am

Only $10.00 set up fee which goes to the Dog Days

Venders needed -- prizes for vendors as a thank you for caring. Feel free to bring your dog, we have some fun events for them too!!!

Dog events:

-Prizes for: biggest dog ~ smallest dog ~ cutest dog ~ most interesting dog ~ rarest breed ~ most obedient dog ~ oldest dog ~ best dressed dog ~ best dog handler--non-professional

-Puppy races

 Registration for dog events begin at 9:00 am  

Judging starts at 11:00 ~ Judges decisions are final

July 25th:

Dog Walk

Summit Twp Building on Bonniebrook Road

Registration starts at 8:30AM~Walk starts at 9:30AM

$10 Registration. Please ask friends and relatives to sponsor you! Walker with the largest donation will receive a beautiful Digital Photowatch which holds at least 60 of your favorite photos! Refreshments and water stations available! It's all about having fun with your dog!

  Aug. 1st & 2nd:

Pet Photo Day

At Butler County Humane Society

$15 dollar sitting fee with a free digital enhanced 8x10!

Each $15 sitting fee will be donated to the fundraiser by the photographer.

Photos can be a family photo, just the pets, or both!
