Training Descriptions: 

Basic Obedience:    Your dog will learn acceptable behavior skills and how to mind his/her manners at home and in public.  Also, On leash obedience and the commands;  heel, sit, down and come.  Our trainer incorporates "stay" in the sit and down commands as an automatic.  Also the dog is primed for the next logical step which is advanced obedience.

Advanced Obedience:  Everything your dog learned in Basic obedience is now tested , tightened up and taught to him/her off leash.  You will work with our trainer and learn how and why your dog does some of the things he/she does and also learn how to deal with these issues through a balanced scale of motivation, correction and praise. 

Specialty Training Descriptions 

Tracking:  (prerequisite for tracking is soft mouth retreival)  If your goal is to have your dog find lost children or just compete in field trials, Our trainer will help you to understand how and why a dog zig zags when on a scent.  you'll learn just how amazing a dog's nose really is. 

Personal Protection:  Any dog can learn to protect.  Please don't ask us to attack train your dog.  We will do aggitation work and test the suspicion level in your dog but if you are not in law enforcement we absolutely will not do any bite work for you.  Sorry. 

Behavior Modification:  Does your dog have one or more unwanted behaviors.  Our Trainer is certified in Behavior Modification and through an evaluation process is very capable of changing your dog's behavior to one you can be proud of.

Scent Detection:  Your dog's nose can certainly discriminate different scents.  This training ties in very well with tracking.  We have access to very good psuedo scents such as different drugs and even cadaver scents.  This is very useful in Search and Rescue training including underground objects.

Utility:   Our agility course will be built and ready to go in the spring of this year. We will offer high and low catwalks to build confidence in your dog. A teeter-totter for balance, three different height jumps for fun and exercise, climbing A-frame and Barrel pyramids for climbing steep grades to generate power and a cadabre course to be used to teach your dog how to find shallow graves in search and rescue training. You will learn to handle your dog on any or all of these training tools. 

Puppy Development:  This training is crucial to the health and well being of your puppy.  You will learn many tips on the care of your new best friend and the do's and don't's of raising a puppy.  We will help you develope his/her skills according to his/her breeding and intelligence levels.  The best time to build a wonderful working relationship with your dog so that he/she developes into the dog you always wanted. 

Assistance Dog:  My personal favorite kind of training.  You and your dog will learn together how he/she can make your life a little easier.  As an example,  you may be an arthritic patient and have limited mobility. You need help picking items up that you may have dropped on the floor.  Your dog will show his/her love for you by taking care of these tasks with a simple command such as "take it".  With that command He/she will gladly pick up the dropped item for you and put it in your hand for nothing more than a little praise and love.

Retrieval:  Soft mouth retrieval is the catalyst for most all specialty training.  Tracking, scent detection, assistance, search and rescue all stem from this prerequisite. This includes retrieving a game bird for you hunters, like my 100 pound Black Lab " CHIP" who is pictured below.

**Training Programs:

Evaluation:  An evaluation is a meeting between the trainer, the dog, and the owners.  During this 45-60 minute meeting, all the owner's wants and needs for their dog will be discussed and our trainer will recommend the training program that he/she feels will meet the goals you set.

Evaluation: $25 (Evaluation cost will be credited to training program of choice)

Basic Obedience:  The Basic Obedience program runs around 7-10 days and includes 3-4 sessions per day.  When the dog has finished the training, to our satisfaction, the owners will receive leash handling lessons with the trainer and instructions for follow up.  From the end of training our trainer will be available for a period of 6 months for any tune ups needed or new problems that may arise at no extra charge to you.  We want you and your dog to succeed.

Advanced Obedience:  This program also runs around 7-10 days and includes 3-4 sessions per day.  Again, once the dog has completed the program, the owner will receive leash handling sessions with our trainer and the same 6 months follow up at no extra charge to you.
